Show Your Style Competition Overview The Show Your Style Competition is a fun activity that gives attendees an opportunity to showcase their design style in a friendly, yet playfully competitive environment. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected in each design category. Earn professional credibility and admiration of your peers by placing in one or more of the designated categories.
New this year! We have introduced three distinct divisions (Newbie, Veteran, and General) to foster a more level playing field:
•Newbie: A division for business owners who have operated a registered company for 5 years or less. •Veteran: A division for business owners who have operated a registered company for 6 years or more. •General: A division where all attendees at any experience level are welcome to participate.
General Guidelines: •Rules will be strictly enforced. •We encourage you to enter as many design categories as possible. Please only enter the divisions that best align with your business experience. •You must submit your entry and upload your design photos from home before arriving at the convention venue. •Voting times will be limited and posted on-site during the convention. Votes will be captured via a phone app. More details to come. •Winners will be announced at the celebration dinner on Sunday evening.
Entry Design Parameters: •We encourage out of the box creativity, while maintaining a certain level of practicality. •When formulating your design, consider utilizing a vessel (Basket, Container, Tray) and any components that you would realistically deliver or ship to a recipient in its current form. •Please refrain from adding any mechanical or moving parts or any items that could pose a safety risk.
On-Site Instructions: •When on-site, place your design on the table with corresponding category. Place your respective entry ticket in front of your design. •Please do not crowd out other designs. There should be ample table space. In the event there is no more room, please contact Debbie or one of the NGBC coordinators to add more tables.
TSA Friendly Reminders: •To ensure your products or designs arrive in tact please take note of the TSA regulations on foods and drink products. Last year, several designers had some products confiscated from their luggage.
•You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/liquids-rule.
•Any liquid, aerosol, gel, cream or paste that alarms during screening will require additional screening.
•If you are traveling from another country, please check your country’s respective customs regulations and other rules/restrictions to ensure your items arrive safely.
